ABC has put the axe into its extremely low-rated freshman drama Wicked City.
Wicked City stars Ed Westwick and Erika Christensen who are serial killers terrorising the Sunset Strip in LA. The series debuted with very low ratings last month when pitted against the World Series, pulling in a 0.9 rating among adults 18-49 and a total of 3.3 million viewers. With each subsequent episode the show’s ratings continued to plummet, with it’s most recent episode hitting a historic low of a 0.4 in the demo.
ABC plans to air reruns of Shark Tank in place of the drama, and will pull production on it after they finish shooting episode 8. ABC has also made no decision on whether they’ll make the final episodes available.
Wicked City is getting yanked off air immediately, but it’s not the only show that’s in trouble. ABC’ Blood & Oil, Fox’s Minority Report and NBC’s The Player all have had their orders trimmed.
