Today has been a damn fine day for Twin Peaks enthusiasts. If you follow David Lynch on Facebook, which I do, then you’ll recall back in the beginning of April he announced that his deal with Showtime, for the return of the Twin Peaks series, fell through because of “funding”. As a lifelong fan, this news came as a huge blow. Showtime reviving the franchise seemed like a dream come true and the perfect home for Agent Cooper and the gang to make their re-entrance into the world.
Well, turns out David Lynch and Showtime have worked out their differences and the series is back on track. Last night David dropped this awesome bomb on Twitter.

I dug a little deeper and found that The Hollywood Reporter obtained a comment from Showtime’s president, David Nevins, confirming the good news.
“This damn fine cup of coffee from Mark and David tastes more delicious than ever,” Showtime president David Nevins said in a statement Friday confirming the news. “Totally worth the extra brewing time and the cup is even bigger than we expected. David will direct the whole thing which will total more than the originally announced nine hours. Pre Production starts now!!”
I feel at one with the universe again and all’s right with the world.
