People do some really strange things for a living. You have your professional snugglers, your garbage detectives, your gum busters, and let’s not forget everyone’s favorite, your topless photoshoot assistant. But of all the weird things people do for work, nothing is weirder than helping a dolphin get off.
The BBC documentary The Girl Who Talked to Dolphins takes an extensive look into the story of Margaret Howe Lovatt, a NASA funded scientist who worked on trying to communicate with dolphins during the 60s. Sounds like an okay gig, but Margaret might have taken the job too far. This doc goes into the lengths she took in order to talk to dolphins including living with them in a house in the ocean, giving them LSD, and even having sexual relations with them.
The story is pretty insane and definitely worth digging into. Enjoy.
