I wonder if heaven has an Elm Street? If it does, Wes Craven is certainly going to scare the crap out of its residents.
Wes Craven, the legendary horror director who brought you such classics as A Nightmare on Elm Street, Scream, Swamp Thing, and The Hills Have Eyes passed away last night at the age of 76 to brain cancer. As a massive fan of his work, it’s truly a sad day, a little piece of my childhood just died along with him.
Many of Wes’ co-workers and fans took to twitter to show their sadness, here are a few tweets.
Robert Englund, the OG Freddy Kruger, the one and only in my book.
RIP Wes Craven, my director, my friend. A brilliant, kind, gentle and very funny man. A sad day on Elm St and everywhere. I’ll miss him.
