Incase you haven’t noticed, today is Back to the Future Day. “What is Back to the Future Day?” you ask. It’s the day in Back to the Future II that Marty and Doc travel to in the future. It’s here right now, of course it looks a little different than it did in the movie, nobody is wearing that stupid metal hat that Biff wears and there’s no Jaws 19.… wait.
In celebration, there will be parties, cable broadcasts of the trilogy, a special screening of Back to the Future II with Michael J. Fox and Christopher Lloyd doing a Q & A that the Nothing Uncut Staff will be attending! But nothing is as cool as what Pepsi and USA TODAY did in honor of Back to the Future Day.
You may remember in Back to the Future II when Marty gets to the future he heads to Cafe 80s, a futuristic retro cafe, and orders a Pepsi Perfect.
In honor of Back to the Future Day the fine folks over at Pepsi decided to start bottling the fictional soft drink for a limited time. Check out their commercial below, even though the song is god awful, it’s still very cool that Pepsi’s offering it to fans.
USA Today is also getting in on the fun. In Back to the Future II, Marty grabs a copy of the famous newspaper to see that he has made the front page… well that issue is now available thanks to USA Today, who ran prints off in honor of this special day.

There’s a few key differences between the two versions. The original has a headline about Princess Diana visiting Washington, which was obviously taken out because of her untimely passing back in 1997. The original also cost $6, whereas the current price of USA Today is only $2… guess Robert Zemeckis didn’t foresee the rise of digital media and the decline of print. There are a few other fun add ons by USA Today, I personally like the Hydrated Pizza story the best.
