Charlie Kaufman is a genius. That label gets tossed around a lot (like in this article) but in the case of Mr. Kaufman it is apt. The man is a brilliant writer who has been responsible for such films as Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Adaptation, Being John Malkovich, Synecdoche New York, and a bunch of others you should check out.
Synecdoche found Kaufman behind the camera directing for the first time, and he knocked it out the park, now he returns to direct his follow up Anomalisa. An animated film about a man who seems to be having an existential crisis of sorts. From the first trailer, I am very intrigued and this has shot up to the top of the heap of my most anticipated films of the year (watch out The Revenant).
