Everyone’s favorite Ghostbuster, Bill Murray (at least everyone here at NU), is headed back to the big screen to kick some supernatural ass.
Before we say that, let us state that we’re not 100% on the ass kicking part. However, Mr. Murray will be making an appearance in the upcoming reboot, at least according to EW.
If you haven’t seen Ghostbusters (what the hell is wrong with you?), Bill Murray plays Dr. Peter Venkman, a wise ass doctor of parapsychology and psychology who catches unholy apparitions with the Ghostbusters – a team including Dr. Ray Stantz (Dan Aykroyd), Winston Zeddemore (Ernie Hudson), and Dr. Egon Spengler (Harold Ramis RIP).
Murray has been notoriously against a reboot or third chapter of the franchise. Even recently stating “It’s really hard to recreate something that was so beautiful, so wonderful.” So…. word of this news is surprising, but definitely not as surprising as the news last month that Dan Aykroyd would be joining the cast. Aykroyd being one of the main proponents of a new Ghostbusters installment.
I guess Bill had a change of heart, or he was offered a substantial sum of money. Who cares? It’s gonna be awesome to see Venkman again and this makes us even more excited for the film.
Paul Feig will be directing the Ghostbusters reboot and it stars Kristen Wiig, Melissa McCarthy, Kate McKinnon, Leslie Jones, Chris Hemsworth, Michael K. Williams, and Neil Casey.
Ghostbusters hits theaters on July 15, 2016.
